Company History

In 1968 Mr. Harold Nicoll started his own construction company (Harold Nicoll Construction) based in Eagar Arizona. Work ethic, good business sense, and an entrepreneurial spirit found Harold expanding into a developer, a manufacture (trusses, laminated beams, and laminated logs), and Arby’s franchises.

Harold built log homes throughout the years and was perplexed as to how he could improve the natural tendencies of a log to twist, warp, and crack. It was soon after he began manufacturing laminated beams that the idea to create a laminated log formed. The logs worked well in residential and commercial construction and were proven to eliminate the problems associated with natural logs. I n 1985 Cheyenne Log Homes was formed as a separate entity and was incorporated in 1990. Keith Nicoll is the acting President of Cheyenne Log Homes and has seen his product shipped around the world.

Longevity has been a trademark of Nicoll family business and subsequently Cheyenne Log Homes. Cheyenne Log Homes boasts debt free operations, which strengthens its position with many of the leading competitors. Out of the box thinking has been another quality that set Cheyenne Log Homes apart. Yet Cheyenne Log Homes originated the laminated log and have stayed on the leading edge of technology and research by testing glues implemented different log profiles and notching. Others have tried to emulate the Cheyenne product, but are yet to match the full-length standard or the array of profiles offered.

Keith Nicoll, President

Keith has over thirty years experience in the log home industry. He was instrumental in the design and manufacturing of the laminated log and has extensive experience in building with solid machine logs as well as hand hewn logs. Commercial construction with logs is another specialty of Keith's. In short he is a world renowned "Master Log Builder". As the original CEO Keith has seen the company through to date and has a vision of Cheyenne Log  becoming the most reputable and used log in the industry.

Randy Nicoll, Treasurer

Randy graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in General Business, with an emphasis in International Finance. Randy has worked with Cheyenne Log Homes since its inception. He has extensive experience not only in the manufacturing of the laminated logs but in the construction of log homes as well. Randy has been the Chief Financial Officer for Cheyenne Log Homes for eight years and is well trained in accounting procedures. He has used his education in international finance with the exporting of logs to Japan and Taiwan.

Eric Hamblin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Eric is a graduate of the University of Arizona. Experience ranges from framing, to concrete, to plumbing. His latest employment was 8 years at Whitton Plumbing Inc. Starting as a fleet coordinator he worked into the P.A. and administrations manager and eventually the general manager. He is the latest addition to Cheyenne Log Homes and offers organizational leadership and management to our team.

Amanda Darling, Draftsman

Amanda is a graduate of Eastern Arizona College with an associates degree in drafting Technology. While in school Amanda was the drafting lab assistant, and in that capacity was instrumental in many projects. Upon graduation she went to work for Cheyenne Log Homes and is in her second year here. Projects include Randal's IGA supermarket of Eagar, and a number of custom log homes.
